It is impossible to talk about Lisbon without mentioning the famous Pastéis de Belém. In Portugal, one of the most traditional pastries you can find are the Pastéis de Nata. They are from Belém, a Lisbon neighborhood you can access with the tramway, about 15 minutes away from Cais do Sodré train station. You cannot go to Lisbon without having a taste of it. In my opinion, they are the best ones I have tried. They are served warm with optional cinnamon and powdered sugar. Don't be afraid of the crazy line outside, it goes by very fast. If you have a little time, go inside and wait for a table to have a drink (it's quite cheap for such a touristic place). There are many rooms and you should be able to find one without waiting for too long (just sit at a table when people leave, don't wait until it's cleaned).
